BRAND IDENTITY: COBALT HAIR LAB

A brand identity built from scratch, inspired by the periodic table. Cobalt signified bold color, experimentation, and collaboration—core values expressed through a modern, modular system. Designed to flex across salon, social, and educational touchpoints, the identity embodies creativity as a lab for exploration.

The logo was designed as a flexible system to reflect Cobalt Hair Lab’s experimental, creative nature. It functions as a signature mark, a repeatable pattern (for wallpaper, packaging, or backdrops), or as a bold standalone graphic. Its adaptability allows the brand to shift seamlessly from subtle detail to large-scale expression.

Iconography

I was tasked to work with the existing image library. I reimagined and folded it into the cobalt system through duotone treatments, creating cohesion and editorial newness. Layered macro product textures added depth and artistry, while black-and-white elements introduced aspiration and contrast.

Photography & Graphic Intent

Macro sensorial product shots amplify the lab collective—shampoo textures, color being poured or mixed—were to be styled as bold, unexpected visuals to add modern edge and intrigue. Paired with the logo, they reinforced brand identity across salon, digital, and business touchpoints.

Client hair closeups would provide balance—varied enough for aspiration and inclusivity, yet relatable enough not to alienate everyday customers.
